The purpose of this post will be to develop and deliver a gambling specific counselling service as part of National Pilot Programme with Gambling Awareness Trust and the National Forum for FRC’s. This post will consist of two days based from Silver Arch Family Resource Centre in Nenagh and a third day (6 hours) from Southill Family Resource Centre, Limerick.
The main aspect of the post will be to work with and support people who have a gambling addiction; those who are struggling with harmful gambling and/or concerned significant others affected by harmful gambling. The successful candidate will work in and with the community to determine the needs within the area and to build confidence and capacity of individuals and families experiencing gambling addiction and its effects.
- 20 Hours per week ( 14 hours in Silver Arch FRC, Nenagh and 6 hours in Southill FRC, Limerick)
- Relevant degree qualification in Counselling & Psychotherapy from an IACP/IAHIP/FT accredited body
- Flexible working hours will be essential; evening/weekend sessions maybe required
- A commitment to completing specific training (e.g. Certificate in Gambling Addiction) which will be funded by the Gambling Awareness Trust
Closing date for applications is 1pm Friday 22nd of September 2023. Interviews will be held mid-October 2023
