Community Families - Home Visiting Programme

Community Families is a universal home visiting support service offered to families from pre-birth to preschool.

Home visits are centred around the individual needs of the parent. Visits are arranged in collaboration with the family and on days and times that are suitable.

Community Mothers are experienced, skilled and trained to encourage and support parents to enjoy and participate in their child’s life.

We also offer:

  • Infant Baby Massage Courses
  • Breastfeeding Support
  • 1:1 Parenting Support including the development of routines
  • Healthy Weaning information and workshops
  • Parent Toddler and Baby Groups facilitated by a trained Community Mother

Resources we use:

Circle of Security Parenting Program

The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.  We work with parents and care-givers to help them to:

Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs
Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
Enhance the development of their child's self-esteem
Honour the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure

Early Years Child Health Information:

Early Years Incredible Years Parenting Programme

In the Parents and Babies Program, parents learn how to:
  • Help their babies feel loved, safe, and secure.
  • Encourage their babies’ physical and language development.
